Shortcrust Pastry - or Use EOI Ready-to-use shortcrust shells

  • Method:
    Use dough hook - mix to dissolve castor sugar.
Group 2

    EOI Gilt or EOI Pride
  • Method:
    Add to Group 1 and mix until margarine is broken up.

    Soft flour
    Baking powder
    Salt
  • Method:
    Add to Groups 1 and 2 and mix to form a smooth clear dough.

  • Ingredients:
    Eggs
    Water
    EOI Custilla

  • Method:
    Line tart tins / foils with shortbread. Add Group 1 ingredients to a mixing bowl. Whisk on low speed for 1 minute and scrape down. Whisk on high speed for 5 minutes. Once mixed, pour custard mix into tarts. Top with nutmeg and bake at 150c for 30-40 minutes, depending on tart size.

Make up Procedure
Fill shortcrust shells with EOI Custilla and bake at 180° C – 190°C until golden brown.

Alternatively, EOI Baked 4 inch Ready-to-use pastry shells can be used instead of making your own shortcrust pastry.

Premium butter flavour margarine for all short pastry, sweet crust & quiche bases. Ideal as a partial or total replacement for butter.

Pride Block 12.5kg

Premium vegetable margarine for use in all quiche base and short pastry lines. Ideal as a partial or total replacement for butter. This product is virtually Trans Free and is suitable for vegetarian and vegan use.

Unbaked Pastry Shells 4” – Qty 120

Sweet unbaked frozen short crust pastry shells 4” (10cm). Made with high quality EOI Monarch vegetable margarine. Ready to be freshly baked for custard tarts. Shells are packed in ready-to-use foils. Carton contains 120 shells. VEGAN
